On World Refugee Day, 20 June 2024, we organized the Rooted Festival, brought to you by Rooted, UNHCR – the UN Refugee Agency, Cinetree, and De Hoorneboeg. We immersed ourselves in nature with 300 people, shared stories and learned about our roots, identities, and building a collective home. The festival provided a space for those directly experiencing the journey of migration and others who understand this unique path. It was a day filled with engaging workshops, inspiring speakers, short films, thought-provoking panel discussions, and music. Together we stood, and continue to stand Rooted.
