The Rooted speaker pool consists of members of the Rooted community with diverse migration experiences. Like Eldin, who fled Yugoslavia as a child, or Samar, who was born in the Netherlands with Morocco as her mother country and Egypt as her father country, and like Philisiwe, who left South Africa with her family in search of a safer life.
They give powerful talks about their personal journey toward finding a sense of home in the Netherlands, interwoven with our shared vision of a more cohesive society. Because the question is no longer whether we live together in diversity, but how we are going to do so together.
